Henry Chadwick Primary School, Hill Ridware, the Head Master, David Werry, was approached about 2 months ago with a brief of what I was looking for.
The brief was to design a 'thank you' card to be used within our business, Cathedral Chem-Dry. No fewer than 26 entries were received and the winner was Leah Bilson aged 10.
Her design will go to print and be used within the day to day work activity. this is our 3rd design competition with local schools, the first was with St Michaels, Lichfield and the last Richard Crosse, Kings Bromley.
Leah received a £25 WH Smith gift card and there were 5 £10 runners up prizes. Cathedral Chem-Dry also donated £50 to the schools art budget.
On the photo, Leah can be seen with her winning design accompanied by head master, David Werry.
Cathedral Chem-Dry is owned by Neil & Sarah Weyham and has been cleaning carpets & upholstery for the last 18 years.

Clean up in our great competition Mar 19 2009

We’ve teamed up with Cathedral Chem-Dry in a great competition in time for Mother’s Day.
Cathedral Chem-Dry is independently owned and operated by Neil and Sarah Weyham.
They cover an area including Lichfield, Tamworth, Burntwood, Burton, Little Aston, Shenstone, Kings Bromley, Yoxall and surrounding villages.
The business has been trading since September 1991, during which time it has developed on repeat and recommendation customers. Around two thirds of the business is domestic, cleaning carpets and soft furnishings.
Top prize in our great competition is £150 worth of carpets to be cleaned which, works out at approximately a lounge, dining room and hall area. Plus there are three runners-up prizes of 20 oz cans of stain extinguisher, worth £12.99.
To enter all you have to do is answer the following question and send your entry to Mother’s Day competition, Lichfield Post, Floor 6, Fort Dunlop, Fort Parkway, Birmigham B24 9FF, by first post on Friday, March 27.

At the annual National Chem-Dry convention in Bournemouth, local franchisee Neil Weyham collected the Midlands Regional Chem-Dry of the Year award. The enclosed photo shows Neil receiving his award from sponsor, Paul Brown from Dri Eaz Products. Besides the award Neil also collected £250 and was one of 4 Chem Drys put forward for the National Chem-Dry of the Year. This award went to a Manchester based Chem-Dry who will be flying off to Hawaii in January 09.
Neil runs his carpet and upholstery cleaning business, Cathedral Chem-Dry in Lichfield since 1991 together with his wife Sarah. The business is largely domestic orientated however 10% of the total work load is commercial.
Local Schools Competition
St Michael's School was approached back in October 2006 with a view to setting up an Art Competition.
A sum of £75 would be donated to the school's Art Budget together with 6 prizes: £25 hobbycraft gift voucher to the winner, and 5 x £10 runners-up gift vouchers.
On Tuesday 17th July, 2007, there was a similar collaborative meeting with the head master at Kings Bromley Primary School for their children to design another card which will act as a reminder to existing customers the length of time it's been since their last clean.
Things move very quickly at this school as the head has said they would carry out the art work on Thursday morning, July 19th for collection the next day to judge over the school holidays !!
The winner was Hannah Coyle, pictured at the front on the right, with the runners up behind.
